EcoKMC participated AmCham Shanghai EarthDay Event
On April 22, the Environment Committee of American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai organized its annual Earth Day Event on the courtyard of Shanghai Center, and around 40 U.S. businesses and AmCham members participated. They demonstrated their initiatives to address environmental problems and shared their passion for building a sustainable society. The event not only raised public awareness of Earth Day in the busy plaza, and it also raise people’s attention to American business community which many have taken actions to tackle environment issues in China.
Ms. Catherine Zhou, CEO of EcoKMC and the Vice Chair of the Committee, led EcoKMC colleagues to have presented their latest environmental project to visitors on the event. Recently, EcoKMC initiated a decentralized waste water treatment project for 1,400 villages in China. Such endeavor will certainly help to improve the rural areas’ environment. “We hope to see cleaner rivers and safer food for people in China”, she smiled at a visitor to her booth.
The chairperson of AmCham Environment Committee, Mr. Mike Rosenthal, has been leading this event for consecutive 5 years and promoted Earth Day’s awareness in Shanghai, he passionately commented that “Earth Day is a global movement that advocates environmental awareness and protection, we all need to be in it.”
When the event completed, almost everyone who participated this event said to thank AmCham Environment committee for providing suchan opportunity, and they will “be here again” next year.
